At the George Washington University, we take full advantage of all our city offers, including D.C.’s vibrant food scene. Our dining experience gives summer guests access to our all-you-care-to-eat dining venues and food and groceries from more than 80 GW Dining Partners located both on- and off-campus. Designed to fit the busy lifestyle of our summer guests, GW Dining supports myriad dietary preferences by providing healthy foods and convenience.
The George Washington University operates all-you-care-to-eat dining venues on-campus, open to GW community members and summer housing guests. Each venue operates on a swipe or fixed price basis, in which dining guests will swipe their card to enter the venue.
Summer 2024 Dining
GW will operate one of our all-you-care-to-eat dining venues on the Foggy Bottom Campus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all seven days a week.
Shenkman Hall Dining
Summer 2024 Operating Dates: Open the Entire Summer
Opened in Spring 2023, one of two dining halls on the Foggy Bottom Campus to visit for an all-you-care-to-eat experience. At Shenkman, enjoy seven dining concepts, including a Teaching Kitchen where students will learn from trained Chefs.

Monday to Friday: 8am to 10am (Breakfast) | 12pm to 2pm (Lunch) | 5:30pm-7:30pm (Dinner)

Our Summer 2024 Meal Plans
Meal plans are available for purchase by summer guests and groups, but are not required to live at GW in summer 2024. Additionally, GW's all-you-care-to-eat dining venues are open to GW community members, including summer housing guests, for single fixed-price meals ($10 for breakfast, $15 for lunch, and $17 for dinner). We offer two options for summer guests and groups interested in purchasing a meal plan.
Option #1: 50 Block Plan
50 Meal Swipes + $50 in declining debit balance on student's GW card for $550
Option #2: 100 Block Plan
100 Meal Swipes + $100 in declining debit balance on student's GW card for $1100
Declining debit balance can be used at any GW Dining Partner location, including at GW's all-you-care-to-eat dining venues.
Meal Plan Booking Options
Summer groups can book meal plans for their entire group, or part of their group, or allow group participants to purchase a meal plan individually.
Summer interns booking individually will have the option to purchase a meal plan during booking or any time before May 17. After May 17, all meal plan selections will be final and non-refundable.
