Monumental Option: Long-Stay Groups
Rooms in our Monumental Option consists of our studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments in some GW's newest residence halls.
Amenities in the Monumental Option include:
- A private bathroom
- In-unit bathrooms
- A private kitchen with a microwave oven
- Air conditioning
2023 Monumental Option Rates
The Summer 2023 housing rate/cost for the Monumental Option is $434 per week per person, with a minimum of 7 weeks of stay.
Rates do not include the 15.95% District of Columbia Gross Sales Tax. Review the qualifications to see if you can be considered for tax exemption.

Monumental Buildings
Shenkman Hall is just 2 blocks from the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station and within walking distance of the State Department and National Mall. A convenience store, dry cleaning, and 3 restaurants are in the lower level of the building and the Lerner Health and Wellness Center is located across the street.

Amsterdam Hall is on the western side of the Foggy Bottom campus, one block away from the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station. It is just a 10-minute walk to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Watergate, the Potomac River, and the historic Georgetown waterfront.

District House opened in the fall of 2016 incorporating the façade of three former halls into what is now GW's second-largest residence hall. Located in the heart of campus, and only one block from the Foggy Bottom - GWU Metro Station, District House guests will enjoy a 2-person efficiency unit with a combined living and sleeping area, kitchen, and en-suite bathroom.
