Our Housing Options

Let The George Washington University be your host as you take full advantage of your summer in the Nation’s Capital.  We offer guests and groups the highest level of convenience with our downtown location, making it easy to get to and from your office, classroom, or that once-in-a-lifetime D.C. experience. Our various housing options offer amenities and living styles for every need all while being fully immersed in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

We organize our residence halls into distinct categories. While each of our halls is unique, guests will find common amenities among the halls represented within each category. Our housing rates vary based on the level of amenities and length of stay.

All guest reservations require a 6-week minimum stay.

Housing Options

The Buff & Blue Option 

The Buff & Blue Option includes everything in the Monumental option, plus in-unit washers and dryers.

Summer 2025 Cost: $525 per week (minimum of 6 weeks stay)


The Monumental Option 

Rooms in our Monumental Option consist of our studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments in some of GW's newer residence halls.

Summer 2025 Cost:

$483 per week for private bedroom units

$362 per week for shared bedroom units

(minimum of 6 weeks stay)


The Capital Option 

The buildings in the Capital Option are popular with students and interns who want to experience their first city apartment. These are studio apartments meaning that the living and sleeping areas are combined in one space.  These apartments have a defined kitchen, an in-suite bathroom, and are available as one-bedroom or studio apartments.

Summer 2025 Cost: 

$441 per week for private bedroom units

$331 per week for shared bedroom units

(minimum of 6 weeks stay)


The Revolutionary Option 

The Revolutionary Option offers residence halls that are what most consider a typical college residence hall room.  While these options do not have individual kitchens, they have private or adjoined bathrooms and come with a mini fridge and microwave. 

Summer 2025 Cost:

$385 per week for private bedroom units 

$289 per week for shared bedroom units

(minimum of 6 weeks stay)


The Fraternity & Sorority Option  

The locations in this option comprise both townhouses and traditional residence halls. Reservations in these spaces must be confirmed by the individual chapter House Managers.

Summer 2025 Cost: $385 per week (minimum of 6 weeks stay)

Note: This option is not available to Long-Stay Groups.
