Revolutionary Option


The Revolutionary Option offers residence halls that are what most consider a typical college residence hall room. 

Revolutionary rooms include:

  • Furnished with a bed, mattress, dresser, desk, chair, and wardrobe or closet
  • Adjoined bathrooms or private in-suite bathrooms
  • A microwave and mini-refrigerator
  • Air conditioning
  • Building or community kitchens

2025 Revolutionary Option Rates

The Summer 2025 housing rate/cost for the Revolutionary Option is $385 per week for private bedroom units OR $289 per week for shared bedroom units, with a minimum of 6 weeks of stay.

Rates do not include the 15.95% District of Columbia Gross Sales Tax. Review the qualifications to see if you can be considered for tax exemption.


Revolutionary Buildings

Lafayette Hall is located across the street from the Western Market food hall and about 5 minutes from the Farragut West metro station.

Madison is in the center of campus across the street from Gelman Library, Starbucks, and the GW Deli and is within a block of the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station. The traditional rooms are sleeping areas with an en-suite bathroom. Community kitchens are located in the building.

Potomac provides the community of adjoined units with the privacy of two-person rooms.  The jack-and-Jill style requires genders to be booked in blocks of four to create a single sex bathroom environment.  The community kitchen and multiple lounges and multipurpose spaces make small gatherings or meetings in the building quick and easy.
